AFFILIATES / INFORUM - Supports REALTORS® by participating in Association events, and scheduling speakers for the quarterly Inforum meetings with information relating to real estate. Prepares flyers for such meetings, collects fees and provides them to the Association.
*BYLAWS - Reviews bylaws and proposes revisions consistent with NAR and CAR and submits to membership for approval.
COMMERCIAL REAL ESTATE – Objectives are to network and share information pertaining to investment properties, provide education through guest speakers, keep apprised of Commercial developments within the City and host a forum for Have's & Wants for investment properties.
COMMUNITY EVENTS - Works in conjunction with the Affiliate Committee on special events.
EDUCATION / TECHNOLOGY - Reviews educational information, speakers' bios, recommends educational programs, and serves as representative of AAOR for the Shared Services Education Committee. Also keeps the Association aware of all advances in technology relating to real estate and assists with the planning of any training or services offered to the membership relating to real estate. Assist in design and maintenance of Association’s web site.
*FINANCE / BUDGET - Prepares and monitors the annual budget along with the Treasurer. Advises the Board of Directors on the financial impact of new projects or services.
HOUSING AFFORDABILITY - Local committee that meets with neighboring associations to discuss the issue of housing affordability and work within its local government to address affordable housing.
LOCAL GOV’T. RELATIONS – (LGR) Monitors local government activity (City Council/ Planning Board) and recommends positions and actions to the Board of Directors on current real estate related issues. May act as liaison between city officials and Association.
MEMBER EVENTS - Assists in the planning, organizing, and implementation of such events as Installation, membership parties, and other events that may arise.
**NOMINATING - Make the determination that all nominees for office meet the eligibility criteria, and make sure that there is representation from a variety of offices in Alameda. Prepare ballot to be sent to members, count ballots, and publish results to membership.
*PROFESSIONAL STANDARDS - Reviews complaints against members, conducts mediation hearings on alleged violations of the Code of Ethics, and provides a dispute resolution process. Committee members must complete Professional Standards Training every three years.
PUBLIC RELATIONS - Works with the local media to promote the REAL TOR@ image and prepares press releases on Association activities and events.
