City of Alameda Proclaims April 2012 as Fair Housing Month!
PRESS RELEASE
The Alameda Association of Realtors® (AAOR) and the Alameda Point Collaborative appealed to the city to declare April 2012 as Fair housing Month to commemorate the Fair Housing Law, Title VIII of the Civil Rights Act of 1968. Alameda’s Mayor, Marie Gilmore declared the Fair Housing Proclamation on Tuesday night, April 18, 2012, affirming the city’s commitment to equal housing.
The AAOR’s LGR Chair, Marilyn Schumacher, Community Outreach Chair, Justine Francis (pictured), and Fair Housing & Diversity Chair, Nina Lim (pictured) worked with the city council to word and pass the proclamation.
